Have You Been Misled?

If you’ve been a network marketer longer than 5 minutes, I’m sure
the following’s been pounded into you brain:

“People are not duplicatable… systems are.” And more than likely, so
has something like this: “Look at the things you do and ask
yourself: ‘is this duplicatable’, can everyone on my team follow
the system I’m using?”

99% of networkers accept these statements as indisputable truths.
They’re repeated tens of thousands of times in blogs, forums, etc.

But that doesn’t make them true.

In fact, the 1% who don’t blindly subscribe & apply such cliches
often out earn the 99% who do.

Crazy but true.

What happens is people become SO CONCERNED about being
duplicatable, they become highly inflexible in their approach.

As a result, they struggle, and often never crack $3000 a month
… let alone $10,000/mo or more!

So… the next time someone hits you with a cliche regarding
duplication, remember this:

It’s OK to do and try things that aren’t 100% duplicatable.
And while you’re at it, also remember this: NO one system is
ever going to be right for everybody on your team.
You could have the perfect internet driven system and there
will still be people who can’t (or won’t) use it.

You can have the perfect system for conducting meetings, and
your downline who lives and works in NYC and rides the subway
to and from work day after day may have trouble building with it.

Don’t be afraid to do what works for you.

Example: say you’re really good with SEO marketing and generating
prospects online, and are using a system to attract serious prospects
that’s not duplicatable.

Are you doomed to failure because no one will ever be able
to duplicate you?

The “herd” will be quick to argue: “yes.” “You’ll never do
it alone” they’ll cry… “your system’s not duplicatable.”

But is “the herd” right? NO — they’re not!

While it’s true you can’t “do it alone,” it’s also true you
won’t have to.

Picture this: using your SEO system you attract and sponsor 27
sharp, professional realtors over the next 90 days.

Will you/they fail because they can’t “duplicate you” and
prospect with your SEO system?

Listen, just because they came in through the net doesn’t
mean they have to build the exact same way.

What if instead you work with them on how to mine their
rolodex/iphone/blackberry etc. and getting their business in
front of other professionals with whom they already have a
business relationship, and then continue to network through those
people to uncover other professionals who might be good
candidates for their business? Help them do that, and they may
soon be out-recruiting you!

I’ve recruited many people over the years who because of their
experience, background and strengths end up building very
differently than I do.

No one system will ever be a perfect match for everyone -
systems are tools, and if your goal is to build a substantial
long-term business, don’t be afraid to have several.

The secret is to remain flexible, work with people as individuals,
and get them plugged into the right system that capitalizes on their
individual strengths.

And by the way, if you adopt a flexible style you’ll also attract
and recruit more people into your business, a tactic I
discuss in: http://tinyurl.com/sponsoringsurefire

Over the years I’ve watched people build remarkable success on
my teams using a variety of different building styles and systems including
meetings (yes meetings), ppc, funded proposals, seo, etc. etc. etc.

One more thing.

When I started out in networking a decade ago, I attempted to
duplicate the style of some of the most successful networkers
of the time, top earners / recruiters who were enjoying
immense success in our industry.

You know what? It worked. I didn’t stop being me… I just
grew a little.

I became more outgoing, more confident and began attracting
leaders, serious players and builders. My business took off.
I continued to develop that style and ultimately made it unique
to me.

So to some degree, people ARE duplicatable. Over the years, I’ve
had a number of people duplicate my style and create success too.

Bottom line: don’t buy into cliches. And don’t be too quick to follow
the herd. Sometimes, it pays to do your own thinking. It sure has
for me!

Who? Me? Write an Article??

Never written an article before? Little bit of fear about writing holding you back? Here
are some simple guidelines for article submission to Ezines and Ezine Directories.

Length:
Minimum of 600 and maximum of 1,500 words (most Ezines and Directories will not
accept anything under 600 words).

Key Words:
What are Key Words? Key Words are words that are used by viewers searching for information in search engines to find articles with the content readers want to read about. Search Engine spyders use Key Words as one factor in determining relevancy of a website, individual, article or blog. It is important to be using your key word phrases in the Title of your articles and blogs, plus 3+ times within your article or blog post/comment.

Steps for Writing an Article:

1) Choose a Topic
CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT…It is vital to have information people are looking for and want to read about. It is important to choose either a hot topic or a topic about which you are passionate. If you can find a topic which is both these things, you have a
winning combination. Think about what people are talking about on forums and in ezine articles that you have read recently. Search Google to find recent popular search topics. Your task will be easier if your article covers a subject people currently find interesting. If you are interested in the subject, this will show in your writing and enthusiasm can be
infectious. If you article is an advertisement for you business, it will not be submitted for publication.

2) Research Your Topic
Remember that people will read your article to obtain information. The type and extent of your research will depend upon the type of article you intend to write. If you are writing an article about your own experience or viewpoint, you probably won’t need to do much in the way of research unless you want to add in references to some contrasting views which have been published by other people. Obviously, if you are writing an article which includes statistical information, you need to make sure your facts and figures are correct.

3) Determine a Title
The title can make or break your article. A title for an article is just as important as a headline for an ad. The first 3-5 words of your title are the most important ones so don’t waste them by using words like “The Ten Best Ways To…”. Put your Key Word in the
first 3-5 words and make sure your title is relevant to the article content. If your title doesn’t grab people’s attention they will never read the rest of the article. Secret Tip –Put your title in the form of a question…search engine spyders love this!

4) Develop 3 – 5 Major Points
Develop 3-5 major points on your topic. If you require more points, it is probably better to split the information into two separate articles. Make sure that each section really is a fresh point and not a continuation of something you covered a couple of paragraphs back. The key to making your writing effective and easy to read is dividing up the content so that it is logically organized and does not jump backwards and forwards.

5) Proofread and Edit
After you write your article, leave it…go away for a period of time. Never send off an article immediately after you finish writing it. Leave it overnight, sleep on it, and then come back to it the next day to proofread and edit it. If yesterday’s work of art seems less
appealing in cold daylight, rewrite it until you are satisfied with the improvement and then leave it another day. Do a spell check but don’t just rely on your pc’s spell checking software, read the article carefully yourself.

It is amazing what a short rest will do for the creative process: you will probably find yourself making many small alterations which will result in a polished piece of work. Sometimes you will find yourself in possession of a completely unsatisfactory article which has to be rewritten numerous times but that is preferable to submitting a substandard article.

6) Formatting Your Article (Raw Text)
Always use “Notepad (Windows)”, or “PlainText (Mac)” for copying & pasting your articles to and from a Word Document. Ideally, you want to simply type your article right unto “Notepad” or “PainText”. “Notepad” & “PlainText” are simple programs that don’t jumble up your article with dead code hiding in the background. There is a great free tool you can use named NoteTab.

DO NOT USE MICROSOFT WORD…Programs like Microsoft Word are THE WORST to copy & paste your articles from. This style of program always hides useless code in the background that only article directory editors will be able to see. If an Editor
sees this garbage code generated from Microsoft Word, they will simply rip your article out of their system. If Microsoft Word is your only option, see HOW TO LOCATE NOTEPAD; USE IT EFFECTIVELY, below.

DO NOT COPY FROM ANY WEBSITE

… Just like Microsoft Word, when you copy & paste articles directly from any website, you will ultimately copy all the code along with it. This website code will result in deletion of your article right away.

HOW TO LOCATE NOTEPAD & USE IT EFFECTIVELY…

Click on: Start – All Programs – Accessories – Notepad. Once notepad is opened, you need to make sure that “Word Wrap” is NOT active (click on Format on the task bar and be sure ‘Word Wrap’ is unchecked). Without de-activating word wrap, your article might get submitted all broken up with major line breaks, and may end up looking like Mickey Mouse wrote it.

Now that notepad is ready for use, it’s time to copy & paste your article within it. You can copy & paste your article directly from either Microsoft Word or your website. You’ll notice that once you do, all the “bold”, “italics”, etc. won’t be active. This is exactly what you want. If you find it difficult to edit your article with “word wrap” off, simply reactivate it for the time being.

Paragaraphs…One last thing!

Make sure to make use of proper paragraphs within your articles. There is nothing worst than viewing an article that never ends and looks like one massively long blob of text. Also do not use contractions like “don’t, isn’t, it’s, doesn’t, etc” spell the full words out. It looks and feels more polished and professional. Once you’ve edited your article and fixed any improper line breaks, you are ready to submit it to your Marketing Website!

HAPPY CREATING AND WRITING!!!

Tips On How To Promote Your Business With Facebook

I’m sure by now you are familiar with the term Social Marketing. It has become a great way to show your personality while promoting your business and making great connetions along the way.

Facebook is among one of the most popular social networking tools out there. Here are a few tips on how to promote yourself “the right way”.

Your Facebook profile is essentially a combination
of your blog, website, business card, online
brochure, virtual storefront, photo album, and
more.

Your profile must represent you and your business
extremely well. It could be the first and *only*
thing your prospects see about you before making
a decision to do business with you or not.

Stay away from graphic rich facebook applications, stick with plain wall, the cleaner and simpler the better.

It should be obvious within seconds (a) what you
do (b) how to find out more about you (e.g. links
to your main site, blog, etc.)

Make sure you have a picture that is clear and has a white background. Stay away from photos with other people, cars, animals and anything that would be distracting away from you in your picture.

Make sure your not wearing sunglasses or in your favorite bikini, even if you look hot, you want to be as professional as possible but also laid back.

You want to be as natural as possible. If you don’t like any of your current photos invest in a professional photo shoot, it shouldn’t cost too much and is well worth it.

I hope these tips helped, a great resource I found to help you out with facebook is at http://whyfacebook.com this is Mari Smith’s website and she is an expert at Social Marketing. Subscribe to her 7 day facebook marketing tips and get into action, you’ll be glad you did.
